Laboratory Director - Professor of Veterinary Pathology

Marie-Anne Colle

Trained as a veterinarian, I completed a PhD combined with a specialization in pathological anatomy at the Ecole Nationale Vétérinaire d'Alfort and jointly in the Neuropathology Laboratory of Pr J-J Hauw and the INSERM 106 unit of Pr C. Sotello at the Hospital de la Salpêtrière in Paris. I am a graduate of Human and Experimental Neuropathology and of the European College of Veterinary Pathologists.

For over 25 years, I have acquired solid experience in experimental and comparative neuropathology on Alzheimer's disease, spinal amyotrophy or lysosomal storage diseases (LSD) such as mucopolysaccharidosis or type II glycogenosis in rodent, canine or feline models and developed a gene therapy approach. This work, in collaboration with teams of neuropediatricians, has led to the establishment of 2 clinical trials of intracerebral gene therapy.

Since arriving at PAnTher in 2001, I have been developing and conducting research on gene therapy of the nervous system. I am currently the director of UMR PAnTher.
